Hmmm, well, I've been having fun. 8D
So my homestay arrived (name's Chiho), and it turns out Chiho's friend, Yukiko, is the
senpai of my last homestay, Manami. Small world. It really surprised me when Yukiko said "まなみを知っていますか?" I just hope nothing bad about me was said.
So, we chatted, Chiho apparently had a rough flight, she liked the
taiko drum performance we had, she likes the piano, just idle stuff. Oh, and her big sister is also here, but with a different host. Her sister looks like she stepped straight out of a Baby the Stars Shine Bright magazine, freaking adorable. All the girls were.
Like my own harem.
After we got home Chiho started saying "あなたの家は大きいです!" which made me verbally keysmash. She kinda remained in awe for the rest of the day.
I did the homestay program last year, so I know that the girl or boy you host will generally bring a little something to show you their gratitude.
But Chiho?
Chiho brought a
pound of chocolate. There was so much candy bars and whatever the Japanese equivalent of Hershey kisses are that it was a freaking
mountain of chocolate. And a
painting. She brought a
painting by an artist whose name I didn't catch but is apparently very popular in Japan. dsfygukjhkhg how do you repay that sorta thing?!
Oh, and I found out she likes Death Note, which scores major points with me. She thinks Light is scary, loves L and Near, and thinks Mello is cute (fffft). She's also a fan of Miyazaki movies, especially Spirited Away.
We took her to dinner later, and she ate like a bird. That is to say, took very little and took a while to eat. Now, maybe it's just me being blind to America's large portions, but I can't help but be worried she'll go hungry. (Seriously, unless you plunk your homestay down, place food in front of them, and eat in front of them,
they will not eat.)
On the flip side, however, I've had no time to work on the Klaus/Near fic for
dn_contest . There's a party tonight for all the homestays and their hosts, so I don't know when I'd even be able to submit it, either. I feel awful about missing the crossover prompt for a
second time, especially since I was so determined to submit something. *smacks self*
Oh, and happy birthday O~ you adorable amputee, you.
